Increasingly on demand at the international level, he is the interpreter of titles such as: La Bohème (Deutsche Oper in Berlin, Palm Beach Lyric Opera and in Hong Kong), Rigoletto (Teatro Massimo in Palermo), Madama Butterfly (Florida Grand Opera in Miami), La Clemenza di Tito (Bergen), La Traviata (Trieste and Malta), Nabucco (Venice, Genoa, Cagliari and Sassari), Thaïs and Idomeneo at the Teatro Regio in Turin; Macbeth (Macduff) in Sassari; I Capuleti e i Montecchi at the Opera in Rome; and Der Rosenkavalier (Italian Singer) in Barcelona and Madrid. Alessandro Liberatore performed Lucia di Lammermoor in Rovigo; Rigoletto at the Teatro Nacional de Sao Carlos in Lisbon; La Traviata in Rouen; Nabucco and a series of concerts at the Tiroler Festspiele in Erl, Gustav Kuhn conducting. Mr. Liberatore made his exciting debut in Verdi’s Requiem in Cagliari, a piece he sang also at the Festival Anima Mundi in Pisa under Aldo Ceccato and in Toblach under Andrea Battistoni. Other recent successes include: Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly in Tampere; Lucio Silla (title role) at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona under Harry Bickett; Rota’s Mysterium at the Vatican City and at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples; Lucia di Lammermoor in Catania; Manon Lescaut with Riccardo Muti and La Bohème at the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome; Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis in Cagliari; Otello in Naples; Nabucco in Nancy; Massenet’s Manon in Liège, opposite Annick Massis; La Bohème in Mannheim.
His future projects include: Lucia di Lammermoor at the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome; Mozart’s Requiem in Erl; Un Ballo in Maschera in Bern; Madama Butterfly in Bologna. Alessandro Liberatore will sing again Mysterium at the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari.

A noble and round voice, Gianluca Buratto is rapidly establishing himself as one of his most versatile basses of his generation. His recent engagements include: Bach’s B minor Mass with Savall in Madrid and Barcelona, both Mozart and Jommelli’s Betulia liberata with Muti in Salzburg and Ravenna and in Wroclaw under Rovaris; Mercadante’s Virginia and La Bohème at the Wexford Opera Festival; Ambrosini’s Il Killer di Parole (world premiere), La Bohème and Rigoletto in Venice; Mozart’s Mass in C minor KV 427 at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome with Nagano and in Cagliari; Bach’s Johannes-Passion with Lopez-Banzo in Spain and Germany; Macbeth with Muti at the Salzburg Festival, Rome and Chicago; Solbiati’s La Leggenda (world première) in Turin with Noseda; Le Nozze di Figaro (Bartolo) in Barcelona with Rousset; L’Incoronazione di Poppea (Seneca) at the Innsbruck Festival; La Bohème (under the baton of Chailly) and I Due Foscari in Valencia; Macbeth at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan; Rota’s Mysterium at the Vatican City and at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples; Rigoletto at the Carlo Felice in Genoa under Luisi; Handel’s Rinaldo and Admeto at the Theater an der Wien; Rota’s Il cappello di paglia di Firenze at the Maggio Musicale in Florence; Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo with Christophe Rousset and Les Talens Lyriques in Nancy and Paris; La Bohème at the Terme di Caracalla in Rome and in Amsterdam.
